  ABOUT THE DOCTOR:
  Dr. Bolhofner has remained dedicated to the orthopaedic surgical care of the severely injured throughout his career and continues to serve as the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma Services at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Specific areas of trauma related interests incude fractures of the pelvis and acetabulum, articular and periarticular fractures, non-union, mal-union, deformity, bone loss, infection and limb length discrepancy. Additional areas of professional interest include adult arthritis and reconstructive surgery and joint preserving surgery of the hip. Specifically, this includes primary and revision joint replacement, hip dysplasia and femoral/acetabular hip impingement.

Dr. Bolhofner has authored numerous book chapters and papers in peer review journals and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma.

Aside from direct patient care responsibilities, Dr. Bolhofner continues work on orthopaedic fracture care implants and has participated in the development of several currently used systems.

Dr. Bolhofner is a frequent lecturer at both national and international meetings and has remained on the Best Doctors in America list since 1994.
