  On Site Open MRI Examination

All Florida Orthopaedic Associates provides patients with an alternative to being placed in a narrow tube for an extended period of time. No more cramped, noisy, and uncomfortable MRI examinations are necessary. Our "Open" MRI system makes it possible for our patients to be examined in comfort while not compromising image quality or clinical performance. The result? Earlier diagnosis leading to a better outcome.

You'll find our open-design system really is the light that ends the MRI tunnel for patients who cannot tolerate being confined. This important difference means you can feel confident in your doctor's diagnostic recommendation - without feeling uneasy about the procedure. And because it is located in our facility, scheduling is quick and simple.

  How It Works

MRI uses a magnetic field and radio waves to cause body tissues in the area being scanned to send out timy radio signals. Each type of tissue sends out a different signal. When the system converts these signals into a computerized image, the result is a clear "picture" of the area your doctor needs to see without exposure to potentially harmful X-rays. MRI can lead to early detection and treatment of disease and, in many instances, eliminate the need for more risky procedures such as exploratory surgery or biopsy.

This makes the MRI one of the most useful tools physicians have to make an accurate diagnosis and select an appropriate treatment for their patients.
